Manchow Soup is a popular Chinese soup recipe made with vegetables. It is a spicy and hot soup very popular in restaurants these days. A perfect recipe to try at home during the Winter season. I absolutely love making a variety of soups at home. Not only soups are super healthy but they are filling too.
Everyone in my family enjoys different varieties of soups and I love making them too. This vegetarian Manchow soup is my husband’s favorite. I personally love it too as it has lots of seasonal vegetables which makes it all the more healthy and delicious.
Usually, Manchow soup is served with deep-fried noodles but I generally avoid it. You can serve it with noodles too. The process of making it is super easy and doesn’t require that much time. The only part that requires time is chopping the vegetables as it requires finely chopped veggies. I use this Vegetable chopper which makes the task super easy.
You can add any vegetable of your choice. I usually add french beans, broccoli, capsicum, carrots, cabbage, onion, and garlic. Paneer or Tofu, mushrooms, red cabbage or bell peppers can be added too. In short, add more vegetables which makes it healthier and a perfect way of making your kids eat the vegetables.
Also, I like my Manchow soup a bit spicy – and that’s why I add both white pepper and black pepper powder. If making for kids, you can adjust the spiciness according to your taste and preference.

- Wash and chop all the vegetables. Keep them aside.
- In a kadhai, heat oil. Add in ginger, garlic, and green chilies. Sauté for a minute.
- Now add in all the vegetables and cook them till they become a little soft. Don't cook too much otherwise, we will lose all the crunch.
- Now add in water, soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, black and white pepper powder, and salt. Be careful with the salt as soy sauce already has.
- Cook all this on low flame. Now make a slurry of cornflour and water. Add it little by little and stir it.
- After a while, the soup will get thicker. Adjust the consistency as per your choice. Taste and adjust the spices.
- Serve it hot with fried noodles or just like that.
- Enjoy your delicious Manchow soup.
